Stahlwerk Bous GmbH
Stahlwerk Bous GmbH
Turning scrap into steel.
Founded in 1886
Location: Bous, Saarland
Stahlwerk Bous GmbH specializes in manufacturing ingots and continuous casting products of substantial dimensions. Our products are crucial raw materials for tube and ring rolling mills, as well as open-die and drop forging. We melt scrap in our electric arc furnace and recycle it into new steel, thereby closing material loops. Our processed products are predominantly employed in power generation, mechanical engineering, and railway technology.
Our passion:
Innovative solutions made from Green Steel
Green Steel
from the electric steelmaking route
Using electric arc furnace technology, we melt scrap into new crude steel, thereby closing material loops. In terms of Scope 1 and 2, our crude steel production via the electric steelmaking route generates more than 80% less CO₂e than primary steel production.
Specialized formats
and processing
Our steelworks stands for a broad product range of ingot casting and continuous casting formats, which we supply in more than 800 grades. We are characterized by flexibility, top quality and committed progress. This is reflected in reliable delivery, even at short notice, and the development of new alloys.
Less Dust. Better Air.
The filtration and dedusting system at the Bous steel plant reduces the dust content in the exhaust air to less than one milligram per cubic meter. This is significantly below the legally required limit of five milligrams per cubic meter.
