An important milestone: Georgsmarienhütte GmbH was the first steel company to have its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation method for the product certified by TÜV Süd, reaffirming its leading position in the Green Steel.

• Compared to traditional blast furnace-based steelmaking, this method cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 80%.
• Even the byproducts – like slag – are repurposed, for example, in road construction demonstrating GMH Gruppe’s holistic approach to sustainability.

This efficient, closed-loop system turns scrap into high-tech steel without compromising quality.
