ProMateria Commences Industrial Production of Additively Manufactured Metal Components
GMH Gruppe’s additive manufacturing venture reaches next milestone with industrial production of cost-efficient metal components
ProMateria GmbH, a venture of GMH Gruppe, has successfully commenced industrial production of additively manufactured metal components. The start of operations marks the next milestone in GMH Gruppe´s expansion of its digital manufacturing and establishes the foundation for the cost-effective serial production of spare parts and a wide range of industrial applications.
Following approximately twelve months of planning and implementation, the first production batches of ready-to-install spare parts will be manufactured in the coming weeks and deployed across GMH Gruppe companies. The components have already been successfully qualified and demonstrate significant potential to reduce maintenance costs, improve supply chain resilience, and optimize manufacturing processes.
The serial production of spare parts within GMH Gruppe marks the beginning of point for ProMateria’s next phase of development. Building on the experience, the company will provide additive manufacturing solutions to customers across a broad range of industries. Its aim is to help companies improve spare parts availability, strengthen supply chain resilience, and realize economically viable manufacturing solutions for complex metal components.

Earlier this year, GMH Gruppe launched ProMateria to combine its metallurgical expertise with advanced additive manufacturing technologies. Today, ProMateria combines two complementary production technologies. Its innovative MoldJet technology is particularly suited to the cost-efficient serial production of complex metal components, while its advanced sintering technology supports both serial production and development and qualification projects.
The company also benefits from GMH Gruppe’s extensive materials expertise. This combination enables ProMateria to support customers with cost-effective solutions for spare parts, small production runs and highly complex metal components for industrial applications.
The production infrastructure has been designed with scalability in mind, enabling additional equipment to be integrated quickly and production capacity to be expanded in line with future demand.
The start of production marks the beginning of the company’s next phase of growth. Together with customers and partners, ProMateria aims to develop further industrial applications and accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing across industry.
