Who we are
GMH Gruppe is one of the largest privately managed metalworking groups in Europe. Under the roof of GMH Gruppe we combine the expertise of 20 medium-sized companies in the steel, forging and casting industrie. We are 6,000 forward thinkers, experts and enablers and generate annual sales of around 2 billion euros.

GMH Gruppe – Sustainability in action
GMH Gruppe comes into existence in 1993: Dr. Jürgen Großmann takes over Georgsmarienhütte by means of a management buy-out and gradually acquires other companies in the steel, forging, casting and mechanical processing sectors.
Today, we already are Germany's most climate-friendly steel company. With our unique value chain, in which scrap is melted down in electric arc furnaces and recycled into new steel, we make an important contribution to the circular economy and are pioneers in sustainable steel production.
Compared with traditional production using blast furnaces and converters, our electric steel route produces five times less CO2. With full availability of green electricity, we can achieve virtually CO2-neutral steel production. In this way we reduce our customers' carbon footprint. We produce Green Steel.
