Machining capabilities

GMH UK specialises in the machining of shafts in the 20 – 40 mm diameter size range in lengths up to 750 mm. We operate three Celoria fm-742 sliding head 14-axis CNC machines, guaranteeing our capabilities for high-volume batch machining.

Our machining cells are fully automated and include a 2.5 tonne 6.4 m bundle loader feeding to inline measuring and packing.

The critical features of every shaft produced are inspected 100% using an inline laser, which feeds the measured data back to permit automatic correction of the machine program.

Each cell incorporates a robot packing system which loads the shafts into two stillage stations.
Offline, we use a Marposs Optoquick laser scanner to ensure that all characteristics of the shafts are within tolerance. This instrument measures angles, lengths, diameters and radii, records all results and generates SPC data.
