Alloyed steel scrap – GMH Gruppe

Alloyed steel scrap contains significant quantities of other elements – chromium, nickel and molybdenum – in addition to iron. We differentiate here between stainless steels and low-alloyed structural steel grades. Examples of stainless steels are grade 1.4301 (V2A), which contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, and grade 1.4401 (V4A), which – in addition to chromium and nickel - contains 2% molybdenum. Low-allowed steel scrap features significantly lower chromium, nickel and molybdenum contents than stainless grades. Two examples of low-alloy steels are grades 2713 and 2343.
